New Camcorders from Sony Announced in Las Vegas 2012

Sony has a few new models for 2012, many are very similar to each other except for the memory with some recording to cards only, others with embedded Flash memory and one with a hard drive.

The Sony HDR-CX190 and HDR-CX200 record only to Memory Sticks or a Memory Card and both have Back-illuminated “Exmor R” CMOS sensor for superb low-light video. 

The new Sony HDR-CX210, HDR-CX260V and HDR-CX580V have similar features to each other, with 8GB of embedded Flash memory in the HDR-CX210, 16GB Flash memory in the HDR-CX260V while the HDR-CX580V records to a 32GB hard disk drive. All of them can also record to Memory Sticks or a Memory Card.

The still imaging capability of each are different, with the HDR-CX190, HDR-CX210 and HDR-CX200 taking a 5.3MP still image, the HDR-CX260V and HDR-CX760V taking an 8.9MP still image, and the HDR-CX580V capable of taking MASSIVE 20.4MP still images.

New Sony Projector Handycam Camcorders

Building on the successful introduction of camcorder projectors last year, 4 new models of projector camcorders, whichever way you want to say it are introduced for 2012 with more powerful projection up to 100 inches.

Sony PJ200 Projector Handycam

Again, very similar to each other, the HDR-PJ260V has 16GB of embedded Flash memory and is capable of taking 8.9MP snaps. The HDR-PJ580V has a 32GB Hard disk drive and can take 20.4MP snaps, the HDR-PJ710V has 32GB of embedded Flash memory and can take a 24.5MP still image and top of the tree is the HDR-PJ760V with 96GB of embedded Flash memory taking a 24.5MP still image.

Both the HDR-PJ710V and HDR-PJ760V have manual control options for Iris, Shutter, Exposure and White Balance with Balanced Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization.

The HDR-XR260V has 160GB of embedded Flash memory and can take an 8.9MP still image, a new 3D model is the HDR-TD20V Double Full HD 3D consumer camcorder with a 3.5″ LCD which lets you view in 3D without needing glasses. Capable of taking a 20MP still image and has a 64GB Flash Memory.

New Sony Bloggie Camcorders

Not to neglect the Bloggie camcorder buffs out there, a new MHS-TS22 model has a 4GB of built in HD memory and is shock proof, dust proof and waterproof taking 5MP stills and finally the MHS-TS55 Bloggie LIVE with 8GB built in HD memory taking 12MP stills and a stereo mic jack.
